Music: Any French Canadian Reel or Jig
Meter: 2/4 (or 6/8, it doesn't matter)
Formation: Couples scattered around the room. The dance is a mixer
Introduction: start at the beginning of a musical phrase.

Bars 1-8: Swing partner
Bars 9-12: Turn partner by the Right hand 8 counts.
Bars 13-16: Turn partner by the L hand 8 counts
Bars 17-24: Promenade around the room
Bars 25-30: Do Si Do partner once and a 1/2,
Bars 31-32: End back to back. Grab hands backwards with partner, then lean forward pushing off your partner’s bum, walking forward to find a new partner.

Formation: Circle of couples, M on the L, all facing center.
Introduction: Start with the singing.

I = Inside foot (M's R, W's L)
O = Outside foot (M's L, W's R)

Bar 1: Starting with outside foot take 3 steps into the center (1,2,3), stamp inside foot, turning towards each other to face out (4)
Bar 2: Repeat bar 1, with opposite footwork traveling out and turning to face back in.
Bars 3-4: repeat bars 1-2, end facing each other, M steps on L on last count instead of stamping.
Bars 5-6: Do-si-do partner, either with arms akimbo or with hands "washing the table" swaying from L to R.
Bar 7: Holding R hands with partner and using two pas-de-basque steps balance towards partner and away.
Bar 8: Exchange places with partner, M walks forward. W turns under M's R arm (California Twirl). End facing new partner.

repeat dance with new partner each time through the music.

Music: SCLP 1021 (This recording is also sometimes used for Norwegian Polka)
Meter: 2/4
Formation: Couple in a circle, M in the center. Face partner.
Introduction: none

Use a walking step throughout unless otherwise noted
Bars 1-4: Turn partner by the R
Bars 5-8: Turn partner by the L
Bars 9-16: Retain L hand and then put R hand on partner's R shoulder. Use 16 buzz steps to swing with partner, on the last count drop R hands and W makes an extra 1/2 CW turn to get into varsouvienne position.
Bars 17-24: In varsouvienne position, promenade around the circle CCW.
Bars 25-32: Drop L hand and woman cast off, then drop R hands once the woman is facing RLOD. Then M promenades solo CCW and W promenades solo CW. Find a new partner.  If you don't find a partner, go into the middle, someone else will be there.

Repeat until the end of the music.

These notes ©2016, Andrew Carnie. Taught in the US by Jane Farwell, Michael Herman and many others. This is a dance that has been in the IFD repertoire since at least the 1940s. Michael Herman's notes date from 1943. The dance is supposed to represent the action of a Spinning wheel.

Meter: 3/4
Formation: Couples facing CCW, with the M on the inside. There is some variation in the notes about the starting handhold. Some notes have the dancers in an open ballroom position (W's R in M's L in front of body). Others have M's R on W's R hip  and W's L in M's L hand.
Introduction: Depends upon the recording.

Estonian Mazurka Step:

Leap onto outside foot (M's L, W's R), bending body forward (1), step forward on inside foot (2), hop on inside foot (3)

Part 1: Mazurka

Bar 1-2: Do 2 Mazurka Step forward in LOD
Bar 3-4: Using 6 running step, couple turns CW in place. M runs forward and W backs up. [Alternately the couple runs forward on these six counts]
Bars 5-8: repeat bars 1-4 [If you ran forward on 3-4, do the CW turn on bars 7-8]
Bars 9-16: repeat bars 1-8

Part 2: Waltz Away

Turn to face partner. M on the inside, backs to the center, W facing center. Puts hands on hip. 
Bars 1-4: Using 4 waltz steps, turning slightly side to side on each waltz step, back away from partner.
Bars 5-6: Using 6 running steps, run towards partner. Optionally clap on first running step
Bars 7-8: Using 6 running steps,  hook R elbows with partner and turn 1 and a 1/2 around each other CW, end with W in the center.
Bars 9-16: repeat bars 1-8, with W backing into the center. Do the turn with the L elbow. End in original position.

To do the dance as a mixer:

On bars 13-14: run towards L hand corner instead of partner, and turn L elbows with new partner (your former corner).
