Formation: Couples in a circle, all facing center. W on M's R.
Introduction: 8 bars no action.
Part 1: Chorus
Bar 1: Traveling CW, Step R across L (1), close L behind R (&), Step R forward CW (2), arms are in W positionBar 2: repeat bar 1, except with opposite footwork and with hands down in V position
Bars 3-8: repeat bars 1-2, three more time
Part 2: facing CW, in and out
Bar 1: With hands down in V position and with each dancer having their R shoulder towards the center. Present R heel into the center (1), Lift R foot next to L calf (2)Bar 2: Step on R into the center (1), close L next to R (&), Step on R into the center (2)
Bars 3-4: repeat bars 1-2 with opposite footwork but moving away from the center
Bars 5-8: repeat bars 1-4
Part 3
Bars 1-8: repeat the footwork of part 2, but drop hands. M has hands either behind back or on lapels. W holds apron or skirt.Part 4
On the last bar of the chorus (part 1) that precedes this, the M turns to face partner. Then repeat part 2, with M moving away from center to start and W moving towards center to start. On last bar M does an extra turn to face center, ready for the chorus.Part 5
Repeat part 4, except hold both hands with partner. The polka/two step is done exchanging places with partner, first time doing it turning CCW to start.Sequence
