Amerseer (Austria)

These notes ©2016, Andrew Carnie. Bill Faust learned the dance from Frank Wailand in (1963) while he was an architecture student at the University of Arizona.There are some different versions of this dance that can be found in videos on the youtube.

Meter: 3/4
Formation: Start as couples facing LOD, holding nearer hands

Introduction (Eingang):

Holding nearer hands, W hold end of apron with R hand, and M hold's L hand in trager (suspenders)

Bar 1: Step on M's L to L, W's R to R (1), swing other foot in front of foot that stepped (2,3)
Bar 2: Repeat bar 3 with opposite footwork
Bar 3: Drop hands and turn away from partner, Man turns to face CW, stepping on L (1), and closing R, no weight (2,3). W begins her twirling, which continues through the plattl. She turns CW, while progressing CCW around the M, Stepping on each beat. She spins this way right through the plattl figure.
Bar 4: W spin, while M pauses with hands in air

Plattl #1 (Men only, women spin around outside throughout)

Bar 1: With hands up in neutral plattl position, and moving in LOD, stomp forward on R foot (1), drag L closing behind R (2), put weight on L behind R (3)
Bar 2: Stomp on R foot forward in LOD (1) Lift L knee and hit L thigh with L hand (2), Step on L and lift R, hit R thigh with R hand (3)
Bar 3: Leap on to R foot, kicking L behind R knee, hit L heel with R hand (1) Hit L thigh with L Hand (&) Hop on R, hit R thigh with R hand (2), hop on R, lifting L foot in front and hit L heel with R hand (3)
Bar 4: Step on L, and hit L thigh with L hand (1),  hop on L hand hit raised R thigh with L hand (&) hop on L (2),  slap R thigh with L hand across (&), Hop on R and hit R instep with R hand (crossing over L) (3) Hit L thigh with L hand (&)
Bar 5: Leap onto R foot, kicking L foot behind, hit L heel with R hand (1), Hit L thigh with L hand (&), Hop on R foot, hit R thigh with R hand (2), Hop on R foot, hit L foot in front with R hand (3) 
Bar 6: Leap onto L foot, hit L thigh with L hand (1), Hit R thigh with R hand (&), Hop on L, hitting L thigh with L and and swinging R hand up and over head (2) Hop on L, and hit heel of R with R hand in back (3)
Bar 7: Leap on to R foot, kicking L behind R knee, hit L heel with R hand (1) Hit L thigh with L Hand (&) Hop on R, hit R thigh with R hand (2), hop on R, lifting L foot in front and hit L heel with R hand (3), Hit L thigh with L hand (&)
Bar 8: Leap onto L, hit R thigh with R hand (1), Hop on L and hit L thigh with L hand, swinging R hand up high over head (2), Hop on L again, this time kicking R foot back, and hit R heel with R hand (3)
Bar 9: Stomp forward on R (1), Lift L knee up and hit it with L hand (2)  Step on L forward (&), Lift R knee up and hit it with R hand (3)
Bar 10: repeat bar 9 
Bar 11: repeat bar 7
Bar 12: Leap onto L, hitting R thigh with R hand (1), Hit L thigh with L hand (&), hop on L, hit R thigh with R hand (2), hit L thigh with L hand (&), hop on L, kicking R back and hit R heel with R hand (3)
Bar 13: repeat bar 9
Bar 14: repeat bar 9
Bar 15: repeat bar 7
Bar 16: Step on L forward in LOD and clap hands together (1), Pause (2,3)
Bars 17-32  : repeat bars 1-16

Chase:

Bar 1-8: Men rotate CW around the inside of the circle with thumbs in trager. Women continue to spin CCW, the men should time this so that they end up coming up behind their partner then she rolls into his arms and...
Bars 9-22:  They continue her CW turning (moving in LOD) together in ballroom position (M's L and W's right is held low), using a Ländler step (waltz)
Bar 23-24: W turns under man's L to continue her spins. M turns to face center, and then repeat bar 4 of the Eingang

Plattl #2:

repeat the sequence of Plattl # 1

Chase #2 and Ending:

Repeat bars 1-22 of Chase #1
Bars 23-24: retaining both hand, W turns 1/2 CW under man's L. Keep W's L and M's right low in the small of her back.  Man kneels on R knee.  Pose.
